Rainwater Re-Use at The Community MusicWorks Center in Providence, Rhode Island
Community MusicWorks (CMW) mission is to create a cohesive urban community through music education and performance that transforms the lives of children, families, and musicians. Located in Providence, RI this non-profit is currently building a new environmentally conscious center to provide a gathering place for music and the local community.
Inspired by Buzz Boettcher and Water Recycling Systems (WRS) work at the Santa Monica Pico Branch Library the project’s LA architect Anjali Joshi of AJD Landscape Architects, reached out to WRS to see how Rainwater Recycling might integrate into the center. Working with 3SIX0 Architecture and alongside Pezzuco Construction, WRS then helped design and install a cutting edge Rainwater System that was instrumental in securing grants from The EPA’s Southeast New England Program (SNEP).
The result is a 7,000 gallon Rainwater System that will capture the center’s stormwater and re-use it for irrigation. Rhode Island averages roughly 43 inches of rain per year. With this significant rainfall total it’s likely that the center’s irrigation needs will be fully met with Rainwater for most of the year.
CMW, like many environmentally conscious clients could choose to work with anyone for their water recycling needs. They chose WRS because experience matters. In the world of Rain and Graywater recycling no one can match our resume and knowledge.
